"Animals – Camouflage
This book with its artistically ambitious and elaborate design is a hybrid of picture book and non-fiction book forming a conceptual »Gesamtkunstwerk«. It introduces different animals who are »masters of camouflage« in their natural habitats and shows their respective peculiar ways of becoming invisible. Yet, the author also plays with the topic in terms of creative design: The information about the various animals is presented both in easily detectable, eye-catching blocks of text, and in hidden, literally camouflaged text units. One time, the tiny print hugs a small twig, another time the text hides among a zebra’s stripes. Annika Siems’s large-format pictures are impressively naturalistic and detailed; the accompanying text is brief and informative."

The book "Meister der Tarnung" was awarded with the "Leipziger Lesekompass" 2013.
